About Our Formula

  • Zantac 360° is an all-in-one heartburn medicine that gives consumers the flexibility to prevent or relieve heartburn fast.

  • Zantac 360° in Original Strength contains 10mg of the active ingredient, famotidine, and in Maximum Strength contains 20mg of famotidine.

Zantac 75 and Zantac 150 contained 75mg and 150mg respectively of the active ingredient ranitidine and are not currently available.

  • Sanofi voluntarily recalled all Zantac products containing ranitidine (Zantac 75, Zantac 150, Zantac 150 Cool Mint) in the U.S. in October 2019. Accordingly, there should no longer be any Zantac products containing ranitidine in the market. However, to ensure you are using Zantac 360° with famotidine, check the packaging for the active ingredient famotidine.

  • No, Zantac 360° products contain the active ingredient, famotidine.

  • Zantac 360° contains the active ingredient famotidine. Famotidine is a clinically proven, safe, and effective medicine that is doctor recommended and FDA approved to both prevent and relieve heartburn.

  • Our top priority is offering consumers a safe and effective way to manage their heartburn. The voluntary recall of Zantac with ranitidine left many users without a Zantac treatment option while evaluations of ranitidine continue. Zantac 360° contains famotidine, a clinically proven medicine which is FDA approved as safe and effective to both prevent and relieve heartburn

  • Famotidine is clinically proven to be safe and effective to prevent or relieve heartburn symptoms by reducing the production of acid.

  • At this time, there are no plans to bring back Zantac with the active ingredient ranitidine.

  • Ranitidine and Famotidine are different active ingredients but are both H2 blockers which work to prevent and relieve heartburn symptoms by reducing acid production. Zantac products containing ranitidine are no longer on the market.

About Heartburn Treatment Options

  • H2 blockers, or histamine 2 blockers, are a class of medication that blocks a type of chemical called histamine, which is responsible for causing acid production in the stomach. H2 blockers, such as famotidine, the active ingredient in Zantac 360°, prevent or relieve heartburn by reducing the production of stomach acid.

  • PPIs, or proton pump inhibitors, are a class of medication that inhibits or stops the secretion of acid in the stomach from the “proton pump,” a molecule contained in stomach cells which “pump” acid into the stomach. Product examples of PPIs are prescription PPIs like Nexium®, Prilosec®and Prevacid®, and over-the-counter PPIs like Nexium® 24HR, Prilosec OTC® and Prevacid® 24HR.

Registered trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

  • While both H2 blockers and PPIs reduce the production of acid in the stomach, there are a variety of differences. PPIs are used to treat frequent heartburn, taken daily as a regimen for 14 days. They are not indicated for immediate relief of heartburn and may take 1 to 4 days for full effect. H2 blockers like Zantac 360°® can prevent heartburn when taken before eating or drinking, or they can be taken when heartburn symptoms strike for fast, long-lasting acid control for up to 12 hours.*

*Acid control does not correlate to symptom relief.
