Questions About Our Prior Formulation

  • Our top priority is offering consumers a safe and effective way to manage their heartburn. The voluntary recall of Zantac with ranitidine left many users without a Zantac treatment option while evaluations of ranitidine continue. Zantac 360° contains famotidine, a clinically proven medicine which is FDA approved as safe and effective to both prevent and relieve heartburn.

  • At this time, there are no plans to bring back Zantac with the active ingredient ranitidine.

  • Zantac 360° in Original Strength contains 10mg of the active ingredient, famotidine, and in Maximum Strength contains 20mg of famotidine.

    Zantac 75 and Zantac 150 contained 75mg and 150mg respectively of the active ingredient ranitidine and are not currently available.

  • Ranitidine and Famotidine are both H2 receptor antagonists which reduce acid production to both prevent and relieve heartburn. Zantac 360° contains famotidine. Famotidine is a different active ingredient than ranitidine, but it still offers your patients the same benefits, and is the same class of drug.

  • Zantac 360° contains the active ingredient famotidine. Famotidine is a clinically proven, safe, and effective medicine that is doctor recommended and FDA approved to both prevent and relieve heartburn.

  • Zantac 360° should be taken as directed. Adults and children 12 years and over may take up to two (2) Zantac 360° tablets in a 24-hour period. Patients should stop use and ask a doctor if they need to take this product for more than 14 days.

  • Zantac 360° is an all-in-one heartburn medicine that gives consumers the flexibility to prevent or relieve heartburn fast.

Questions Your Patients May Ask

  • Zantac 360° should be taken as directed – with water and swallowed whole. The tablets must not be chewed or crushed.

  • Zantac 360° Original Strength should be taken as directed. It can be taken 15 to 60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn to prevent symptoms, or it can be taken when heartburn symptoms strike, for fast, long-lasting acid control for up to 12 hours.*

    Zantac 360° Maximum Strength should be taken as directed. It can be taken 10 to 60 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn to prevent symptoms, or it can be taken when heartburn symptoms strike, for fast, long-lasting acid control for up to 12 hours.*

    * Acid control does not correlate to symptom relief.

  • Zantac 360° can be taken either before eating to prevent heartburn or after the onset of symptoms to relieve heartburn.

  • Zantac 360°® prevents heartburn when taken in as little as 15 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn. Zantac 360° relieves heartburn fast and controls acid for up to 12 hours*

    *Acid control does not correlate to symptom relief.

  • Zantac 360° reduces acid production in the stomach.

  • As directed on the Zantac 360° label, do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours. Stop use and ask a doctor If you find that you need to use Zantac 360° for more than 14 days. Use as directed.

  • Zantac 360° should not be taken with other acid reducers, such as PPIs.

  • If pregnant or breast-feeding, consult with a health professional before use.

  • Zantac 360° contains no ingredient made from a gluten-containing grain (wheat, barley, or rye).

  • Every patient is unique, but there are some common things to do to help keep heartburn under control.

    • Caffeine
    • Alcohol
    • Carbonated beverages
    • Citrus
    • Onions
    • Tomato-based foods or products
    • Chocolate
    • Peppermint
    • Fatty or spicy foods
    • Lying down right after eating
    • Exercising after eating
    • Eating large meals or eating before bedtime
    • Some medications including NSAIDs, benzodiazepines, calcium channel blockers, some asthma medicines and tricyclic antidepressants
    Make Lifestyle Changes
    • Lose weight
    • Quit smoking
    • Reduce stress levels
    • Sleep with the head raised 6-9 inches
    • Avoid tight clothes around the waist or tight belts
  • Sanofi voluntarily recalled all Zantac products containing ranitidine (Zantac 75, Zantac 150, Zantac 150 Cool Mint) in the U.S. in October 2019. Accordingly, there should no longer be any Zantac products containing ranitidine in the market. However, to ensure you are using Zantac 360º with famotidine, check the packaging for the active ingredient famotidine.
